Who is the man behind the title Author?
Well, let’s start with a question, this way you’ll be able to learn a little bit more about me on a personal level. If you have a question that I don’t answer here, feel free to email me the question or ask it over on Facebook. (I might add your question with my answer to this page!)
Do you have any pets?
We have a Maine Coon cat, her name is Kelsey. She is black and white and looks like a cow but she is gorgeous. She is only 5 years old and loves to play. Her favorite thing is to lay on your chest so she can feel your heartbeat. Kelsey is a rescue kitty from a really great shelter in Woodenville, WA.
Other than writing novels, what other goals do you have for your life?
Since I’m in the midst of writing a series of three books, I want to enjoy my family and make time for God. That’s a HUGE task right now as my current day job takes up most of my time and energy when I’m not writing.
Someday I hope to make a living as a writer. But until then, I dream about the day!
What do you like to do in your spare time?
When I have a quiet time to myself, I love to read!
What’s one thing you wish you knew how to do really well?
I wish I knew how to be a great writer so I could stop working for someone elses dreams! I’d love to take a class or at least have someone tutor me in the art of writing and become more skilled at it.
What are some of your favorite foods?
Oh my absolute love Bacon, grilled Steak, seafood, grilled burgers and hotdogs, pizza, chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, my wife’s home made stew, any of her cooking, apple pie with Cool Whip, baked apples with butter and cinnamon, and holiday meals!
What’s your dream vacation spot?
I’ve always wanted to take a research trip to England or Ireland and visit castles. I adore everything Middle Ages – the times of knights and castles – so I’d love to visit as many as of the old fortresses as I could.
What is one of your greatest adventures in your life?
Hiking Mt. Rainier National Park followed by climbing up steep glaciers to over 10,000 feet with full gear and an Ice Axe. I have written a story about it and it should be in the free section of this blog!
What was your faith journey like as you grew up?
I grew up a midwest Baptist christian. My life centered around school, being a kid on weekends, and attending church on Sunday. I went through a period of being a stupid by not continuing to serve in the military, retiring and getting a pension.
When my high school sweathart was killed at 26, I realize exactly just how stupid and moronic I was by not retiring from the military, especially when during all those years of continuous struggle to raise them. At one point I had to sell my blood to feed them.
Thankfully, God was there for me through it all. And when I finally made it, I was a stronger person because of it. I came back to the Lord whole-heartedly. Even though I’ve had ups and downs since, God is faithful and I hope to use my talents for his glory.
What is your favorite Scripture verse?
Before the mountains were brought forth,
or even thou hadst formed the earth and the world,
even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.
~ Psalm 90:2
